Day Centre is Back!
We are delighted that Day Centre reopened in August.  We welcomed old and new faces.  Clients have had an opportunity to explore the new hospice and particularly enjoyed the garden.  A new programme offers art and crafts, wellbeing and therapy, cooking and baking, quizzes and games.  As we add additional days, there will be visits from Therapy Dogs, speakers, music and singing groups to provide an active day. Day Centre has a phased return and is currently open on Mondays.  We are hoping to add additional days in the coming months to return to a our three day a week service later in the year.

If you would like to attend our Day Centre, speak to your health care professional or phone 01264 835288 and book a telephone appointment with Senior Sister Sandra Leonard to find out more.

We’re Hiring!!

If you are a qualified therapist, chiropodist, health massage specialist, beauty therapist or hairdresser, Arts or Music Therapist and could offer your services on a regular basis to Day Centre and the Hospice, we would love to hear from you.  You must be insured, a member of a professional body if applicable, and able to invoice for your services.  Please send your CV, availability and rates to Michele Gard and we’ll arrange for an informal chat.

Congratulations!
Huge congratulations to Senior Sister Sandra Leonard who has passed her Non-Medical Prescribers course and to Community Palliative Care Nurse Michelle Larden who has passed her Advanced Note-Taking and Observation.  Well done Ladies!

Congratulations and thanks

We received a wonderful £1053.75 from Phil and Hannah Walker on the occasion of their wedding.  They asked friends and family for donations in memory of Julie Walker instead of presents.  We send love to them both and wish them a very happy marriage together.

Countess of Brecknock Hospice Trust -Covid-19 Update

Updated as of 23 July 2021:

Although restrictions have been lifted, the hospice is still maintaining guidelines to protect our patients and staff.

You will be required to wear a clinical grade mask, socially distance where possible and regularly wash or sanitise hands.

Our Inpatient Unit is operating as normal.  However Visitor Restrictions remain in force.

Restrictions are lifting but we still need to restrict visitors to protect patients and staff. Please speak to senior staff or call 01264 835288 to find out how this affects your family.

Thank you for your continued support and patience, and for helping to protect our patients and staff.
