10@10 Late Night Walk 2020 – UPDATE
Now it’s the 10@10 VIRTUAL WALK

This year’s 10@10 Walk was planned to take place in June as usual but we postponed it until 19th September because of Covid-19.  It would have been our 10th Anniversary Walk.  With the fast-changing virus situation, we do not feel we can go ahead with a ‘physical’ event as planned.   We know you will be as disappointed as we are but we need to keep you and everyone involved safe.

Book Now

So, for 2020, we’re inviting you to be part of our 10@10 Virtual Walk, remember a loved one and support your local hospice.  For this year only:

  • You can walk 10 miles, 10 km or a distance of your own choosing.
  • Rather than starting at 10pm, we want you to start at 10am in the morning.
  • Instead of having one date, you can complete your walk on Friday 18th September, Saturday 19th September, Sunday 20th September or Monday 21st September.  You can spread your distance over one day or four days.
  • We will have a Zoom get-together at 9.40am each day for you to join in and warm-up.
  • Stitch-a-Logo are donating wonderful Yellow T Shirts and there’s a specially adapted ‘daytime’ logo just for this year’s event.
  • There will be a prize for the best outfit posted on our facebook page by 4.00pm on Monday 21st September.

We ask each walker to raise as much sponsorship as possible  or If you are unable to collect sponsorship, please make a minimum donation of £25 in addition to your entry fee to help provide care to those with life-limiting illness.

Entry fees are just £10 per person this year.  This will include an exclusive yellow 10@10 Virtual Walk T-Shirt to wear for your challenge.  Everyone who raises £25 or more in sponsorship or makes a personal donation of £25 or more in addition to the entry fee will also receive a medal by post after the event or on receipt of your sponsorship.

See our website to download an entry form or book online now

Supported by Stitch-a-Logo and Harrow Way School.

Good Luck guys!

Thank you to Three Ladies in Lockdown!   Clare Scheckter, one of our Trustees, Alex, Lizzie and various friends have been keeping busy making beautiful Liberty print face masks during lockdown.  For each Liberty mask purchased – some are shown here- one bright and cheerful cotton mask has been donated for the out of hours use by front line workers including staff at the hospice.  Donations have split between CoBH and Lawrence Home Nursing in Chipping Norton.  We have received a magnificent £1,166.  Thank you so much for all your hard work and support.  Our staff really appreciated it.
Liberty print masks are still available for a donation of at least  £10.  Please contact Alison for details.

Great co-operation!   We were delighted to welcome Darren Niven, General Manager and Kat Uren, Engagement Support Assistant from Co-operative Food Primary Logistics Services at Warrior Park to CoBH.  Staff have been fundraising during lockdown and Darren presented a cheque to us for £250.  Thank you to everyone involved.  Your support is much appreciated during these difficult times.

Bowling Along!  Thank you very much to Ben from Harrow Way School. The PE department have kindly donated a bowls mat and balls to the hospice. Although our Day Care Services are currently suspended due to Covid-19, this will be ideal for our daycare patients to use in the garden.

Anyone for a Cuppa!
Thank you to Christine and Stewart Middleton.  Stewart works at Twinings and they have donated this beautiful tea box and tea bags.

Have your own personalised leaf on our Eternal Tree.  Our Eternal Tree is a beautiful, handcrafted copper wall sculpture set in the family area of the inpatient unit.  Engraved maple leaves can be added to the branches to create a stunning artwork and a lasting collection of memories and special messages.

Leaves can be dedicated in memory of a loved one, to express thanks, as a gift, to show support for the hospice or simply be engraved with your own name or personal message.  Download our leaflet for full details,

ALL VISITORS TO THE HOSPICE ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A CLINICAL GRADE MASK WHICH WE PROVIDE FOR YOU
If you have any symptoms, please do not come to the hospice.

To protect our patients and clinical staff, please continue to support us by donating online via our website: www.cobh.org.uk or by using online platforms such as Facebook and JustGiving.

If you bring donations to the hospice, please put your donation in an envelope with your contact details and relevant information.  You are then asked to pop it in the red post box which is located in the front porch of the hospice.  Please call 01264 359789 or email: info@cobh.org.uk  if you have any queries or require information about donating or raising money for the hospice.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so generously during lockdown.  As you know, it is very difficult for us to fundraise at the moment and this enormously affects our ability to support the running costs of the new hospice.  Your help is much appreciated.

Could you make a donation, regular gift to CoBH or set up a Facebook Birthday page?  We can’t fundraise at the moment but if you could give online for a special occasion or set-up a monthly standing order this would help us over this difficult period.  Thank you.

A gift to CoBH in your will  will allow us to continue supporting patients through one of life’s most difficult journeys, for generations to come.  Please support us today so we can continue to be here tomorrow and in the future. If you have made the incredible decision to leave a gift to CoBH in your will, or are considering doing so, we would love to be able to thank you and talk about the difference you can make. Contact Michele Gard on 01264 359789.
