165 walkers took part in the Countess of Brecknock 10@10 Late Night Walk on Saturday 22nd June. The sponsored walk is known as 10@10 as it starts at 10pm and entrants can walk up to ten miles – hence 10@10! This year, the youngest entrant was just six weeks old pushed in a buggy lit with fairy lights. Individuals, teams and families of all ages donned their walking shoes, neon, fluorescent and flashing accessories to glow for the Countess of Brecknock and walk the streets of the Andover to raise vital funds.
Michele Gard, Director of the Hospice Charitable Trust said, ‘It was a fantastic evening with a great atmosphere. Many of those taking part walked in memory of loved ones and want to ensure care is available for others who need it. We lit up the night and shone for the hospice which is such an amazing facility for our local community”.
10@10 is an important fundraiser and, with walkers’ sponsorship, is expected to raise at least £15,000 to support Hospice services. Harrow Way Community School hosted the walk and Stitch-A-Logo generously donated the T Shirts so even more funds can be raised. Thanks also to Kellie Warren for taking the warm-up before the Walk.
