Magnificent eight – volunteers bring trolley service back to Andover’s hospital and hospice

The ladies will visit Kingfisher rehabilitation ward, the Physiotherapy department and the hospice. As well as providing patients with snacks, newspapers and sundries, there is a great opportunity for volunteers to talk to and get to know the patients, some of whom don’t have many visitors and welcome the opportunity for a chat.

Plans are also underway to introduce the “talking newspaper” to Kingfisher so that patients who have impaired vision can catch up with the local news.

Can you play the piano or provide other activities which would entertain the patients on Kingfisher rehabilitation ward? If you have some free time and might be able to assist, please contact Voluntary Services Co-ordinator Nikki Oliver on 01264 835279.
